Easiest way to book an adventure

There are many tourist spots in town and at the beaches.  With a quick walk down the main road in Coco, you'll find places to book fishing trips, scuba & snorkeling, zipline tours, tours to the interior (Arenal), etc.  If you want help booking a tour, contact our property manager, Maria.  Her contact information is:

Note: We did take advantage of the 1-hour massage. The ladies came directly to the condo and set the tables up on the deck. While the experience was wonderful, it was not the deep tissue experience we had hoped for. It was more of a relaxing massage.

Fun Adventure 1 Hour Away From Ocotal

If you want to have it all in one place, Vandara Park is a good option. It has zip-lining, water sliding, horseback riding, cultural information, spa services, and hot springs all in one adventure. You pay an upfront fee and here is what you get:

  • An intro to the Costa Rican practice of getting sugar out of sugar cane. This tradition is called Trapiche. They will talk about this old tradition along with a brief synopsis of coffee making. They'll give you a few snacks to try.

  • Next, you will be suited up for zip-lining in the trees. First, if you want, you can ride horses to the first ziplining platform (or ride the bus if you want to skip the horseriding part).

  • Then, zipline your way past 8 different platforms. This is an exhilarating part of the day!

  • Next, you are on the bus riding up to the water slide. You basically slide through the "dry" jungle at a fast pace on your bottom, ending at a refreshing pool.

  • Next, you are treated to a traditional Costa Rican lunch. Good food.

  • After this, you can head your way down to the hot springs and lounge at the pool. If you want to purchase drinks at the swim-up bar, take your credit card, or cash. Pura Vida!

  • You can slather yourself up with mud and shower it off. You can also pay extra for spa treatments like massages or skin detox treatments.

  • Towels and lockers are included in your price. Make sure you bring closed-toed shoes for zip-lining, and horseback riding. If you have water sandals, bring those for the water slide - or just go barefoot as I did.

Overall, we would recommend this experience. Cost was $118 per person (as of late 2022) and included the food! You can book here:
